Cabin Fever – when the walls have eyes!

A few years ago I spent a summer guiding in the Upper Penninsula (UP) of northern Michigan. My rustic accommodations centered around an old bunk style camping cabin that had been converted to a stand alone mini apartment.

Perfect for the single paddler and I also enjoyed waterfront living for the first time in my life. 🙂

The walls of my cabin were lined with planks of cedar,

and the eyes literally popped out of the wood work.

Cabin Fever – feat. Four Walls & the Eyes!

The .. walls .. have .. eyes! 😮

The Coronavirus global pandemic of 2020 has forced many people to isolate themselves to prevent transmission on the novel Covid-19 virus. Necessary, drastic steps as not seen in living memory! Many are stuck indoors in apartments and homes looking at the four walls around them.

Some years ago I experienced something similar living in a tiny cedar cabin while guiding in northern Michigan. The sparsely populated small town of Cedarville was quite a change of pace from urban S Florida!

The walls of my cabin were lined with planks of cedar, and eyes literally popped out of the wood work.

The eyes of the forest were looking back at me!
